INFORMATION ABOUT THE COLLEGE

The General Nursing program was started in 1954 as Qualified Registered Nursing(QRN). It phased out in 1970 to give way to Enrolled Nursing(EN) and Concentrated Courses. In 1980, these phased out to pave a way for the State Registered Nursing(SRN). In 1999, the Registered General Nursing(RGN) was initiated. It was the only programme running until 2001 when the Registered Midwifery(RM), initially known as Direct Midwifery also started. The College pioneered the RM programme.

Welcome to Nursing and Midwifery Training School!

I am very proud to be the Principal at NMTC-Sekondi, supported by a highly skilled and dedicated team of tutors and support staff. The school is a two form entry Registered General Nurses and Registered Midwifery

The staff at NMTC-Sekondi have high expectations for all the students, and would like them to leave school as confident, polite and independent young people, with the appropriate skills, values and learning to become successful in whatever their eventual career paths will be. We aspire to instill in all our students a desire to ‘Aim for the Stars’ and to succeed in whatever they do, across all areas of school life even beyond.
